WHO AM I?

Your Partner in

Kokoro (Mind/Heart) Rewiring.

AYAKA SENSEi — is a bridge between worlds.

Born into a lineage of Japanese Senseis and descendants of the Buke (samurai class), leadership and education are quite literally in her DNA. Her foundation was built on the century-long wisdom of her great-grandmother, who lived to be 103, and a family of specialists who taught her that true mastery is a lifelong pursuit.

Though she never set out to be a 'Super SENSEi,' her journey across continents and disciplines made it inevitable. From moving to Australia alone at 14 to training in the rigorous dance studios of New York City, and eventually living across Europe, Ayaka has spent over two decades mastering the 'in-between.'

She is a rare guide who navigates three distinct realms:

  • The External World: A National Government Licensed Guide for Japan, a certified Japanese and ESL teacher, and a bicultural expert.

  • The Underwater World: A PADI Divemaster and National Diver who has guided through the currents of the Great Barrier Reef and Okinawa.

  • The Internal World: A certified Life Coach (NLP/Positive Psychology), and a Yoga, Meditation, and Face Yoga instructor.

Ayaka doesn’t just teach; she helps global citizens rewire their Kokoro. She provides the compass for those who—like her—are 'colourful,' living between multiple identities, and seeking a deep, unshakeable alignment.

"I've spent my life crossing borders so that I can show you how to find 'home' wherever you are."

FAQs

What does SENSEi actually mean?

Globally, SENSEi is understood as "teacher" or "master." However, the Japanese kanji (先生) literally means "Those who were born before" or "Those who lived before." It is a title of deep respect for those whose mastery and life experience are ahead of our own.

In my branding, I use a small "i" for two reasons. Phonetically, the "i" in Japanese is a weak, short sound. Symbolically, the SENSE represents our human senses and the i represents the Individual, Instinct, and Intuition. I believe a true SENSEi doesn't just give you answers; they help you awaken your own individual senses to navigate your own path.

Who is called "SENSEi" in Japan?

It’s not just for martial arts or classrooms! In Japan, the title is reserved for those who provide specialized guidance or hold deep wisdom. This includes educators, accountants, tax accountants, doctors, lawyers, politicians, authors, and even master craftsmen. Coming from a "Sensei family"—with a lineage of educators and specialists—I view this title as a responsibility to uphold the standard of mastery and service passed down through my ancestors.

What makes "Japanese Mindfulness" different from what I see on social media?

Many modern mindfulness practices focus solely on "calming the mind." Japanese Mindfulness is about alignment (Kokoro) and action. It’s rooted in the wisdom of my 103-year-old great-grandmother and the discipline of the Buke (samurai class). It’s about finding stillness in the middle of the "transit"—the chaos of moving between worlds—and using that stillness to make SKILFUL decisions in your daily life.

What exactly is "The Kokoro Rewire"?

Most coaching stays in the "Mind." But the Japanese concept of Kokoro encompasses the Mind, Heart, and Spirit as one. Using my certifications in NLP and Positive Psychology, we "rewire" the subconscious patterns that keep you stuck. We don't just change your thoughts; we align your entire internal compass so that your heart and mind are finally speaking the same language.

Why do you use the theme of "Transit" and "The Transit Lounge"?

Because for many of us, life is one long transit. Whether you are moving between cultures, languages, or career identities, you are constantly in the "in-between." A transit lounge is a place of transition—but it doesn’t have to be exhausting. I created the Transit Lounge as a space where "colourful" global citizens can pause, recalibrate, and prepare for their next destination with clarity rather than confusion.

Why do I need a "Super SENSEi" instead of a regular life coach?

A regular coach has a map; a SENSEi has been the journey. I’ve mastered the "in-between" across three realms: the Underwater World (as a Divemaster), the Physical World (as a National Guide and Yoga teacher), and the Internal World (as an NLP coach). When you work with me, you aren't just getting a checklist. You are getting a guide who knows how to help you stay grounded whether you are 30 meters underwater or navigating a major life pivot on land.

I am monocultural and monolingual. Is this for me?

"You are about to become multicultural and multilingual in the most important way!" While many of my clients are global nomads, "living between worlds" isn't just about the passport you hold or the languages you speak. It’s a state of mind. We all live between different worlds every day: our professional roles vs. our private selves, our logical minds vs. our emotional hearts.

Even if you’ve never left your hometown, you might feel "fragmented" or stuck in a single way of seeing the world. My mission as a Super SENSEi is to give you the tools of Japanese Mindfulness and NLP to help you communicate with the most important person in your life: Yourself. By rewiring your Kokoro, you’ll learn to speak the "languages" of resilience, intuition, and deep alignment. You’ll start to see your life through a more colourful, multi-dimensional lens. So yes, this is for you—get ready to expand your world from the inside out!
